How do you clean up black mold?

There is no sure fire way to rid your home of mold. It is a common organism that is so small that it cannot be seen with the naked eye. But visible mold is definitely a problem.

1. Fix water problem that is allowing mold to grow.
2. Build a containment around mold to keep spores from spreading.
3. Wear personal protective equipment: mask with vapor and particle filters; eye protection, and disposable coveralls.
4. Tear out moldy materials and double bag inside containment.
5. HEPA vacuum all surfaces inside containment.
6. Spray disinfectant on all surfaces.
7. Dispose of bags of wet moldy materials.
