Local Library Flooded and Damaged

Thousands of books damaged by flood.

The library was flooded with four feet of water in their basement. The rain storm had blocked all the drains to the city and there was no place for the water to go other than into the library's basement.

Most of the books in the basement were for youth and teens. All the wet books had to be discarded due to the contamination of the flood water. Most of the walls had to be torn out for the same reason.

It is always sad to see such a beautiful and historic building damaged. However, we were very grateful to be the ones to help restore the building.
